Charlotte graduated from McLean High School last year and began attending the Air Force Academy.

Put this girl in a jet, STAT. Or perhaps in command of an AWACS. Or maybe SecDef. We need people who can keep their head when the shit hits the fan. Also, I have read other stories of people who find amazing strength in times of danger. Adrenaline is an amazing thing.

When I was young, I had pretty bad asthma. Asthma drugs weren’t what they are now, and a couple of times I had to go to the hospital because of an attack. They would shoot me up with adrenaline, which makes the lungs expand (part of the fight or flight reflex). It was awesome, and boy, could I breathe better.

I lifted a truck off my stepdad once. He wasn’t being crushed but he was pinned by the rear diff. Not to take away from this young person’s accomplishment. Her feat is much more notable.
